Traditionally, opening day for fishing is in early May. Many of us forget to make sure we follow code, because we’re so anxious to enjoy the warm weather.
Besides purchasing your fishing license for the 2010-2011 season, are you aware of the rules and regulations of the state of Wisconsin?

It is illegal to fish for a species during a closed season including “catch and release” fishing, according to the Department of Natural Resources website.
There are also many fishing regulations we need to follow while having fun such as hook and line, spearing and netting, setline or bankpole and total daily bag limit regulations.
Visit the Department of Natural Resources website for more information.
